My journey as a therapist in the healing arts has paralleled my exploration of the mind-body connection through studying Yoga asana and Vipassana meditation in Canada and in India. I have been teaching weekly Yoga classes in Nelson, BC since 2010. I offer dynamic Hatha Yoga and relaxing Restorative Yoga, accessible to all levels. My classes weave together an exploration of postural alignment, breathing exercises, and meditation. In 2010, I completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training inspired by the Iyengar and Ashtanga methods under the guidance of Hart Lazer at United Yoga Montreal.
I am also a BC registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine offering services in Acupuncture, Herbology, Tuning Forks, and Massage in Nelson, BC. Restorative Yoga with Tuning Forks
Explore deep relaxation and rejuvenation of body, heart, and mind. Inspired by Iyengar Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine, this class offers a slow, receptive, calming, cooling, and contemplative practice focusing on holding the postures for a longer period and stillness. It weaves together restorative postures with the support of props, breathing exercises, meditation, and sound healing with vibrational acupressure. Throughout the class, the instructor will apply tuning forks on the student’s body to activate acupoints and meridians selected to support physical, emotional, and mental health. This relaxing practice is an invitation to release stress and tension, rest, and re-energize. Maximum 8 participants.
